Today I have one of the raddest women that I’ve had the pleasure of working with joining me. When I first stumbled across her image on Facebook, I knew I had to have it for a book cover. LJ Photography has been incredibly easy to work with and when I messaged them to find out about licensing the photo of Misses Brooklyn, I was excited when I found out it was available for purchase.
With each book I wrote, I just didn’t have a heroine that matched how the image spoke to me. I knew I needed the perfect story. And when I wrote Severed, I knew that was it.
I was lucky enough to get to interview my amazing cover model for Severed, and I wanted to share that with you today!
Let’s get to it!
Thank you again for your time and for doing this interview. I’m so excited to have you on my cover. So, tell me, you go by Misses Brooklynn, is that your real name? Or a pseudonym?
It’s an extension from my middle name Brooke, semi like an alias for my modeling.
That’s awesome, fits so well with the image you portray. Tell us what a normal day in the life of Misses Brooklyn is like?
I’m always working and or promoting brands, businesses, and self-promo as well.
It’s hard work, and it seems to be paying off! So, here’s a sneaky question, but is there a Mister Brooklynn?
No there is not, I’ve been single and focused for over 2 years. I dabbled in a relationship, but I’ve come to terms with the fact at the moment I am okay being single and focused on my goals.
That’s really awesome. I’m sure you’ll meet every one of your goals. Let’s get into your work… How long have you been modeling?
I originally started at 9 years old through agencies and stopped till I was 23 it has gone through the roof in the past two years.
Wow, that’s a long time to be in one industry. After all these years, did you ever think you’d be on a book cover when you started modeling?
Not at all but after networking and going through opportunities that I have been blessed to be a part of… I put it on my bucket list and am so, so grateful to have this cover.
And I’m so excited to have you on the cover. It’s really an amazing image. You have an incredible amount of ink. When did you get your first tattoo? And what made you get more?
I got my first tattoo at 16 but started religiously getting more about 4 years ago. It is a very good way of expressing myself without being vocal about my life.
I would have to agree with your statement. I have a few tattoos myself, and it certainly is a wonderful way of expressing who you are. So, tell me which of your tattoos is your favorite?
My forever young on my abdomen. I am a living liver cancer patient, so I thought the tattoo was way more than appropriate.
Oh wow, that’s incredible. You’re certainly and inspiration! And I love that tattoo.
Let’s jump into some fun questions. Tell us what’s your favorite dessert?
OMG, cheesecake! It’s about the only dessert I will never turn down. So, what about your idea of the perfect date?
Me, alone, Netflix, popcorn and a phone charged hahaha
That definitely sounds like a great evening. 🙂 And have you traveled for shoots? If so, where and have you been outside the US?
I’ll be leaving the country for my first time in Feb to the UK!!! I’m super excited.
That’s going to be amazing. I wish you a safe trip and enjoy every moment. Since you’ve done a number of various shoots, what is your ideal location?
I love studios and outdoors so that is a tough one.
Haha! Nice. For my readers, and anyone else who’d like to work with you in future, tell us where we can find you online.
